This home was updated/renovated to include new wood trim for consistency matching to the original base and window moulding from the oldest section of the home. Minor wall changes were made to open up the areas, removal of dark wall coverings and the walls and ceilings painted in neutrals to lighten up the spaces. Lighting was updated in addition to adding recessed lighting to give a feeling of higher ceilings. Period door hardware was incorporated throughout, most doors had inconsistent styles and finishes over the years of renovations. Floors were refinished and in some areas replaced. New entry doors were added with glass lights to allow views to the outside and borrowing more natural light. The design objective was achieved: to bring back the simplicity of the home, allowing the interior architecture to be more pronounced, a clean fresh look. Interior design suggests the simplicity of farmhouse style with a mix of subtle coastal accents colors and textures.
