marshes light residence (in-progress)

The home was designed to be a full time residence for the owners relocating to Roanoke Island from the coast of Maryland. The client was familiar with building custom homes; however, they wanted to have another local resource for ideas and recommendations and to guide them through the process.

Retained to assist the owner with the plan review and overall flow of the selected floor plan to include the main living areas – kitchen, dining, and great room in addition to the outside porch area. The client wanted a coastal southern home with an open living floor plan for entertaining.
A design inspiration package was prepared for the client in addition to photos and magazines tear sheets that they had collected. Selections and budget pricing were presented for lighting, hardware, fixtures, and architectural finishes for bath & kitchen.

 

In addition, final architectural details and elevations of molding and trim were reviewed, working with the builder and trim carpenter for pricing and implementation. The color palette and selection for the exterior a warm grey, interior palette selection for the interior stone – neutrals to work with greens, yellow and grey tones. Final paints are under review working with existing furniture and upholstery as the project is underway. Furniture selection consultation is being provided, evaluating existing and new pieces, in addition to new porch furniture.
